Core Project: China-West Africa Two-way Shipping Logistics Channel
Cooperation Background and Progress
In May 2024, a cooperation agreement on the West African Logistics Center project was signed with Zhongjishi International Trade Co., Ltd. Based on the existing iron ore sea shipping routes, the two parties collaborated to create a return bulk carrier logistics channel, optimize the export route of West African mineral resources to China, and at the same time, promote Chinese building materials, mechanical equipment and other products to enter the West African market.
Operational Achievements
As of March 2025, the channel has cumulatively completed the transportation of over 200,000 tons of bulk goods, with the trade volume exceeding 100 million yuan. It has achieved regular operation.
In March 2025, 1,000 tons of steel products were shipped from Huanghua Port in China to Sierra Leone, further supporting local infrastructure projects.
Future Plans
Network Expansion: Deepen the construction of the West African logistics network, expand the coverage of shipping routes and the types of goods (such as cold chain logistics and cross-border e-commerce).
Digital Empowerment: Participate in the upgrading of West African ports and the construction of intelligent logistics systems to improve the efficiency of the supply chain.
Industrial Linkage: Explore the "logistics + industry" model and promote the construction of the "Golden Channel" for economic and trade cooperation between China and Africa.
Core Layout: Warehousing and Supply Chain Integration
In January 2024, the West African Logistics Center warehouse was officially put into operation, becoming the first "port-warehouse linkage" project in West Africa, shortening the supply chain cycle and improving the delivery efficiency.
Strategic Objectives: Expand the warehousing network through nodes such as Apapa Port and Lekki Port, strengthen multi-business services such as hazardous goods and containers, and replicate the successful model to neighboring countries.
